Been a while

Back on the blogger after awhile - thingz have been crazy at work and well basically no time for a lot of thingz.

Last week's Tirupathi trip was quite disasterous, all fine but thingz went completely awry at the end....
Dad's been bizzy making plans for December - Jan, when cousins are down from Auz. My preparations are happening, albeit slowly. Hopefully i will be ready for the test by the required date.

My ol' roomie Kas, is currently staying at our place and it feels like 'ol times. Poor thing has been looking for a place to move into but no luck so far. We're happy to have her for as long as is needed!

Biz has been super low this month, wat with all the rains and bad weather. Fingers crossed that it will change soon.

Oh yes, my sis began this Damisetti/ Damisetty community on Orkut and we managed to locate a few others too. We met with Suman while he was in Chennai. It was nice to meet him but poor soul was given the third degree by my folks - they were so interested in being able to trace out common relatives that it went all over our heads :))

Well nothing more to really add at this point but will make it a point to blog more frequently, my net connection at home is up and running finally. Got the UPS!!

Thi's Wedding!

Arundathi (Thi to my sister n me), is a good friend, my sister's PG classmate and Thi recruited me into Frost & Sullivan. It was finally her turn to tie the knot :)  A lovely girl with a knack for keeping friends and my - absolutely unbelievable ability to keep in touch with friends!!!

Was her Mehendi ceremony on Saturday and we, my sis n me, reached her place in Thiruvanmiyur arnd 3:15. Most of the junta was knew but some that i know of as her friends. This was an occassion where all her many different friends finally to got to meet others that they've been hearing about but never met before :)

Aarti, Saroja, VJ, Mangala, Subashree, Anusha and Anandhi - nice folks all from very different attitudes but was great to meet 'em all. I guess I've never really been a part of a gathering where i didn't know the crowd so to speak but i enjoyed it thoroughly. Starting Ryzing after having met them all. A lot of the group were friendz of Thi's from having networked in Ryze. Infact, she met her husband, Sachin, at a ryze gathering.

Wedding was on Monday, Mom was coming down to Chennai for the wedding. She n my sis headed over earlier while i went along a bit later. Different wedding to see for me - Konkani ishtyle! Saree worn different, different ceremonial procedures, the works. Finally rushed to work and headed for reception in the evening. Met up with the Frost junta - Andy bhai, Ranjith, Rajesh, Hari, JD, Anu, Sharon, Tammy, Lalitha, Anusha and several others. Was nice to say to them after this time.

Thi n Sachin are heading to Goa for their honeymoon, followed by a reception in Secunderabad (Sachin's family hails from there).  See wedding pix attached.... On the whole, had a whale of a time, made new friends and ate happily!!

Julie's Wedding - Finally!

A friend of mine tied the knot on Thursday (18th Sept) - Julie's wedding was a much awaited event.  Santhosh works for Polaris and altho' they'd been engaged for over two months, the friendz circle at Synaptris just never got to meet him in person.

We all introduced ourselves to him after the wedding, Julie was getting ready for the reception and we were on our way to meet her backstage :)

Super biryani as promised but sob sob I sat with one of the really late batches as my husband didn't come in until quite late. He could only come after the unit closed.  Anyways by the time we finally sat down to eat, the Chicken fry was mostly over. She's promised to feed us a great meal soon :)

Left early from work, hopping to be there in time for the  wedding service but as inevitable when plans are made, we reached mid way during the ceremony. Ahhh the ceremony - well it was different to sit thru a Protestant wedding service - lotsa funky Christ music, albeit all in Tamil.  Songs were along the lines of 'Eesu super star' :)

Anyways Gai and me headed over to my place to get ready, while Mathu went home to bring Teju. The plan was to meet at my place and head from there. Drive was rainy but not long enuf to cool the place, the entire place heated up a bit too much.

Teju was adorable, happy listening to the hip Christ music and all the new faces arnd. Our boss, Kalai came in later, along with Priya n LP.  In all, there were close to 80 from Synaptris, huge showing, especially as Julie was known to a lot of folks at work.

Pix of Teju,  Julie's wedding attached :)

Karuna was due first week of Oct and Friday was supposed to be her last day, she was taking off for Maternity leave, but imagine our shock when I received an sms on Monday morning saying she was in labor. She has a lovely baby boy - 2.7 kg, and mom is doing fine. Infact we spoke to her almost 40 mins after the delivery, but phew! it sure was a long labor - more than 12 hrs.......
Pix will be uploaded when i get hold of some

Group Treat at Comfort Inn, Egmore

After much a do, lunch was finally fixed for Tuesday, 29th Aug. With a group of 20, planning is not necessarily the easiest to coordinate :)

Anyways, Deepa, who's put in her papers was giving us a treat for joining, birthday and exit.My team is extremely er... fond of eating to say the least. Infact Deepa was hoping to get a few pix of the team in the Pirhana mode. That shud give you some idea of how much Synaptris Marketing loves to eat. It was a combined treat given by Deepa, Sereen, Gayathri and Priya.

The spread looked awesome, but the service was quite sad. Despite reservations, we were offered separate tables but as usual we made the most of it with our usual panache :)

The pix shud giv u some idea of the spread, it was a super duper offer all for Rs 199 (incld tax). After several rounds of plate changes, the entire team was ready to call it a day and head home to sleep off the aftereffects of the noon excess :) The finale was the bungled up billing, sad to receive such treatmemt or rather lack of, especially from a three star hotel. Anyways wats a few bumps and hiccups when the food is great, the ambience nice and desserts galore!!!

Weekend at Pondy

The whole of last week has been quite crazy, what with things coming to a head at work and having to rush to Pondy on Friday evening so that we could attend the Banquet....... Weekend was super duper hectic, dinner and lunch out three consecutive days. Am completely fed-up of home food but have absolutely no wish to cook tonite either. Was up this morning at 3:45 AM to drive back to Chennai and was nodding off at work for a bit arnd 6:00 in the evening :)

The banquet at Seagulls was regular fare, a bit of rain earlier in the evening but overall alrite. Sat nite was at Ashok Pondy, I'm heading there after a real long time. Infact this weekend was about visiting places i havent been too in a loooong time.

Sat nite was quite a crazy scene but the highlite was the band from Auroville, really good music and i think a few med students played a few oldies. Nostalgia .... all tht old music

My folks and family friends had organised for this Pizza Party last nite, was nice to meet old friends after ages.
But phew thank god the weekend is over !!!!

Change at workplace - new hoop for all of us BB mad folks. Good way to expend energy altho' tough for the guys in tht hoop bay... tht's wat we're going to call them :)

As far as opportunities for my husband's biz, hopefully things will pan out after the weekend.

One Nite @ the Call Center

I recently read Chetan Bhagat's 'One Nite @ the Call Center' an interesting book abt six people n
events that occur one fateful nite.

Its not my usual fare but my reason for reading the book was i was desperate for reading material.
And let me tell you, when ur desperate you will read just abt anything you can get ur hands on,
irrespective of the blurb sounding interesting or not. I'm kinda broke at the moment, so no more trips to the library and my UPS has conked off.... Given the rampant power fluctuations in my locality, i'm not risking my system for ebooks :(

Anyways back to the book, now there's nothing new answering calls, especially if it forms the primary part of your job description. But this call was different, it was a call from God.
Events that occur all in one nite, with flashes into the past make the book a quick and overall interesting reading experience. However, one feels a bit squirmy (for lack of a better word) after having read the book.

I've always felt that reading books was exactly just that - FICTION. The places, landmarks, people, attitudes etc somehow felt a bit far off and different but this book was authored by and Indian and personally, i could relate more to it, for all that the book was a piece of fiction....

Yet to read the author's first book - Five point Something, supposedly about student life at IIT. Need to get hold of tht now

Babies babies everywhere.......

Lots of stuff happening in my life at the moment, well not directly to me per se, but around me :)
My closest pal, Suni, had a baby girl, name unknown still, but she looks a real heartbreaker from the pix i saw of her.
Another good friend at work, Gayathri,  is in her last trimester and all of us at work cant' quite wait to see the lil' one.
She's one of those fun folks to be around, always lightening up the place with her antics.
She either whacks one of the boys arnd coz she gets these urges to let out some steam or watch out, a hard thump on your shoulder.
From what i hear, it pains a bit and then goes numb but whatever it does, it sure as heck lightens up the place for the rest of us :))

Another friend at work, Mathu, has a lovely baby boy - Tejas, adorable little imp he is.
The first time we saw him, we thought he was this serious looking kid, guess he was just disoriented from all the racket and ruckus being kicked up, thanks to us seeing the new mom after a long time. And let me tell u, we can be one noisy group when we get together.
The latest pix we saw of him was this cutie in a bucket with this expression on his face saying 'Ahem wat exactly am i doing here and how the heck will i get out!!!!!'

My boss has a little girl, Anjali, she's a few days short of a year and is one smart cookie.
Tom-boy to the core, she's going to grow up having a funtime. Altho' i doubt the family will feel the same, if you want to confirm just as my folks!!

So with all of these babies around, my folks are feeling the pinch as they've yet to become grandparents :)  Neither me nor my sis are currently considering expanding the family, circumstances don't allow for them yet. Cliched but true.

Gai has her checkup this morn and returned all frazzled, poor thing is still unsure when the big event is likely, neither her doc nor she are sure of the dates so que sera sera is the situation there.

This is my first post and thought i'd start with wats the most eventful in my life at the moment.......
